First day of school

Hunter fell off her bike the night before school started. It was pretty nasty. She couldn't bend her knee or wear anything that touched it, so she has had to wear shorts every day. It's been so blasted hot that it turned out okay. Halle was very excited to go to school. She has the same teacher Hunter had in 1st grade so she wasn't very nervous.

My little 1st grader is so big now. Yes, I am home alone for 6 hours, and that is why Jason is expecting some great things from me, like dinner, a cold glass of water when he walks in the door, and me wearing an apron. Life isn't getter easier, so don't ask me what I do with all my spare time, I'm a busy housewife trying to keep my family happy.
P.S. I am substituting for Hunter's class next week. I am very excited because in the first 2 days of school I've bought 2 different pieces of furniture. I think I'll be able to pay off the table in the year 2020 with my money from substituting. I had to pay $25.00 to get fingerprinted and then I get paid $43.00 a day before taxes. We are rolling in the money!!! If you need a loan give me a call.

Bow hunting with the cousins.

We went camping with Lanny and his family. They have 3 boys and love camping. Fisher loves to run around with Hunter and Halle. Lance stayed away from the girls, he is a little shy.

Melinda is a great "camper". She packs a lot of good food and things for the kids to play with. She is a life saver when we are out in the wild.

These are the goofy kids. They planted a garden, made a bench and rigged a teeter totter. Don't tell me they aren't smart kids.

They said it was to hard to look into the fire without their sunglasses on. So, maybe they aren't so smart, or maybe they are. . . This could be something to sell at Cabela's.

Vegas Baby!

We went on a girls trip with the Barlows to Vegas to see the Lion King. I would give the Lion King show a 10! I would give Vegas a 2. I'm not a huge fan of Vegas. I love Highland and Costco too much.

We bought good, but cheap seats to see the show. Thank goodness there was a mix up and they had to move us to the 12th row on the isle. The seats were awesome. I've never been so happy to have our plans all messed up.

Hunter and Halle kept pushing each other when I was trying to get a picture of them together. Those sweet little darlings. That is why we had to do separate shots. Halle's friend Micaela is posing holding her leg up in the air next to Hunter.

We also stopped by a aquarium that was at the hotel. I was pleasantly surprised at how cool it was. The kids listened to the head set at every stop. We spent a good 2 hours there. I think we almost got our money's worth.

Posing at the Aquarium at the Mandalay Bay Hotel. The girls got to pet a sting ray and a crab. They also had hand sanitizer everywhere, that gave me a good feeling inside.

We also went to the pool. They had a cool wave pool, but the little girls were too little go in it. The big girls loved it until Lauren was swept along the bottom of the pool scraping up her back. We left shortly after the incident. That was O.K. the little girls and the moms were getting hungry.

Halle loved the lazy river. She didn't want to leave. She kept pulling me under the water fall and messing up my hair. That little stinker.
I would give the Lion King 2 thumbs up, it was worth it!

Hiking Timp

Every year we hike Timp. We left around 5:00am and hit the saddle around 8:00am. We went with 3 young men in our ward. Let's just say I think I was the least in shape. I almost started to cry 3 different times. It is a long hard hike. If you wondering it is not to the cave it is to the top of the mountain.

This is me acting like I'm not about to die.

This is at the saddle. There is a little skinny trail that goes to the tip top of the mountain. I hate that trail. Last time I humiliated myself by crawling along the side of the mountain.

This is a view from the saddle looking back along the trail. It was very pretty. We've never hike the mountain with snow like this. We had to cross over huge snow drifts a few times.

This is us after reaching the top. I am afraid of heights so I'm a little nervous in this picture. Jason looks like he loves it. I think it reminds him of hunting in the mountains or something like that.

Hawkins Family Reunion

We had a great family reunion last month up at Sundance. We rented an amazing cabin where we hung out, ate, hiked, ate, went to Jordanelle and ate some more. Jen was in charge of the food and we all gained a few pounds.

This is the hike to Stewart Falls. Jason couldn't make if for the activities in the day, he had to work. I didn't remember it being such a long hike.

This is a few of the kids playing out in the water. Becky brought a lot of the toys for the kids to play with. Good job Becky, she is always prepared.

This is one of the newest babies in the family, Bryn (Josh and Laura's little girl). She is adorable. The girls loved her and always wanted to hold her. Sorry for the man handling.
We had a great family reunion.

Camping with Grandpa and Grandma Hawkins

Everyone loves riding in the Rhino.

Jason loves to cook breakfast for everyone. It was so good.

Grandpa Dave found giant mushrooms.

Grandpa Dave and Grandma Char.

We love camping, to be honest I love camping for about 24 hours. Then I love going home and getting cleaned up.

Annual Sun Valley Vacation

It's our annual trip to Sun Valley. It started out with me driving 5 hours to Idaho because Jason had a LITTLE work to do. Really it ended up being about 48 hours of work. We missed Jason this year on our family trip. Oh well maybe next year.Halle is such a tease.
Sweet little family posing after a free ice cream bar. We were the first in line. It was kind of embarrassing but who cares, do you really want everyone else's germs. Not us!

This is me and the girls after the ice cream bar, trying to suck it all in for the picture.

This is the "after" shot of Halle.

This is the "before" shot of Halle. Sometimes I wonder where she came from.

The girls having fun in the pool.

Look girls it's Jason, your Dad.

The girls waiting for their turn to ice skate. We go once a year ice skating and it's enough for us.

Waiting patiently.

Finally their turn.

After ice skating Halle and our friends daughter Sammie, snatched a few rolls to feed the ducks. Is it a little obvious or what.

The kids feeding the ducks with the "stolen rolls".

The girls love free stuff from the hotel. They love putting all of the soap in their bags and waiting for more free stuff the next day. This is what the girls did while waiting patiently for their dad to get done working.

Nice look Hunter.

We also take the tram to the top of the mountain. We pack a lunch and eat when we get to the top of the mountain -that's my favorite part.

Hunter didn't eat much, she did like the inside of her pickle.

Hunter smiling on her way down the mountain.

Halle and Hunter love to say "Hi" to everyone as they pass us going up the mountain.

Jason wouldn't let me ask anyone to take our family picture so we had to do two separate family pictures.

The second family picture on top of the mountain.
We had a great time in Sun Valley this year.
I can't wait for next year, I think I'll accidentally throw Jason's cell phone out the window on our way to Idaho next year.
