Skiing

Parker - Connor - Josh - Hunter - Halle

For some crazy idea (peer pressure), I decided it would be fun to take the girls skiing. I have been skiing 4 or 5 times in my entire life. I am horrible. I don't want my girls to grow up in Utah and not know how to ski, like me. We borrowed gloves and pants from neighbors and headed up the canyon. It snowed the entire time we were there. The road closed an hour after we got there so the resort was pretty empty, perfect for beginners like us.

Halle

Halle and Hunter took lessons. They never went up the ski lift, just the tow rope. I thought that I would be able to get them on the lift and off the lift just fine, boy was I wrong.

Hunter

Hunter was sitting next to me and my neighbor Kailey on the ski lift. As we skiied off the lift chair we looked back and saw Hunter continuing up the mountain on the lift. She couldn't get off the chair so she sat back down on it and kept going up the mountain. She had to ride the lift all the way to the top of the mountain and back down again. It was snowing so hard and the poor thing was frozen by the time she got back down to the bottom of the lift. Her little tears were frozen on her face. Let's just say, she is not a fan of skiing.

After we paid for ski lessons, ski rentals and lift passes, we were out of cash. So, we had to eat poppy seed muffins from Costco in the car because were weren't allowed to bring outside food into the lodge. After spending a lot of money to ski we weren't even allowed to eat in the lodge (whatever). So, we broke Jason's rules and ate muffins in the car.

Kailey and Halle

Thanks to our neighbors Jodie and Kailey we had a successful first time skiing. Halle wants to quit dance and ski every day, and Hunter has no desire to ever ski again.

We have to run the numbers to figure out which one is more expensive DANCING or SKIING!

Temple Square

We took the girls to Salt Lake to see the lights at Temple Square and then to hear David A. sing with the Mormon Tabernacle Choir. He was amazing. We stayed long enough to hear David A. sing his songs and then we snuck out the back door. It was a fun night.

Tooth Fairy

Halle had a loose tooth when she went to school yesterday. She is an animal when it comes to pulling out her own teeth. I think she likes money! When she came home from school she had lost her tooth.

Halle loves to get as much information as possible from the Tooth Fairy. She likes to leave her notes with questions for her to check off.

Halle was prepared with a bag for fairy dust.

The Tooth Fairy came and left her $3.00 and a little fairy dust. The Tooth Fairy keeps forgetting to answer all of her questions, maybe next time she will have more time.

Gingerbread House!

The girls have been waiting for some Christmas fun. We decorated gingerbread houses for the first Christmas activity. Hopefully there is more Christmas fun around the corner.

It's beginning to look a lot like. . . Christmas.

So, this is the front room. I haven't been able to get to my computer for 5 days. I feel like I lost my link the to outside world. I usually check my email 5 times a day. If I missed something important please forgive me!

Our house was wrapped up like the house on E.T. (phone home)
This is the kitchen can't you tell?

The lovely family room, where we gather to read Christmas stories. We haven't done much celebrating yet, but I am not complaining.
Grandma Nan and Simon (her dog) let us sleep at her house for 5 days. What a trooper. She made muffins, dinner, treats, and bought white bread for the girls. She spoiled us.

Thanks for letting us bunk there for the week. It was so much fun.

What was I thinking?

For some stupid reason I thought that it would be fun to do some finish work in our house. IDIOT! It has been a disaster. I thought that it would take a week to do everything. I promised Jason that I would happily paint everything and not complain, boy was I wrong. I have had 3 bids. One guy was so cheap that I didn't dare use him. The 2nd guy finally emailed me back and said that he is declining the opportunity to paint (whatever). The 3rd guy better show up next week.

The rooms have been like this for a week. The kids think it is cool.

Who starts a project like this 3 weeks before Christmas?

I wish I could complain but if I do complain I will hear it from Jason.

The couches in one room an elliptical and a treadmill one word . . . "Classy". Santa doesn't even have room to come down the chimney. Maybe that's the plan.

Thanksgiving 2010

Jason let the girls choose what kind of pies they wanted to make for Thanksgiving. Hunter only likes key lime pie and Halle likes apple pie. Jason made two different pies with the girls, while I cleaned up behind them. I don't know which is harder teaching kids to cook or cleaning up after kids.

Thanksgiving morning at Grandma Nan's. She made little turkeys out of gloves. The kids loved the turkey gloves especially Fisher, he kept walking around with his turkey gloves making sure no one stole his turkey.
Kelli, Grandma Nan and Me before our pants split.

Halle and Fisher checking out the turkey gloves. Fisher can't keep his hands of the turkey gloves.

The girls watching a movie after the feast.

Now off the Grandma Char's for dinner. We ate so much food and it was all delicious.

The Katoa's and the Hawkins.
We hope you all had a great Thanksgiving.
Now bring on Santa!

Fairy Tale Ball

Our ward is having a Fairy Tale Ball tonight for the Activity Day age girls. Hunter was super excited to go with her dad. What a cute couple!
They set up a salon at the church for hair and nails. Oops we missed the sign up for that, so we had a salon at our house. Berkley and Hunter were happy with what hair-do we could come up with. I think they look adorable.

I feel like the prom is just around the corner. Help me! Or help Jason find a part time job.

I can't wait for Halle and Hunter to go to the Fairy Tale Ball next year. I live for this kind of stuff.

Garage Party!

We had a impromptu Halloween party in our garage this year. Jason and I had cleaned the garage out and thought. . lets have a party. This is so white trash!
The girls came home after trick or treating soaking wet.

This is the only shot I have of the girls in their costumes. After months of planning and sewing, this is what I have to show for my hard, hard work. They are excited, that is all that matters.

This is the party before the trick or treating. Check out Grandma Nan at the end of the table.

Cute lizard, cute pink panther, cute purple bat, cute grandma and cute snow shovel in the back ground. You probably can't tell but I cleaned and oiled all of our gardening tools hanging up in the garage. It pays to watch Studio 5, I learn a lot of valuable info. Tomorrow they are discussing leggings!

Did Elvis come to any of your parties? I don't think so!

Fun neighbors, they are as crazy as I am. They thought hanging out in the garage was a good idea too.

The Nanners was on clean-up duty. Next year it is going to be bigger and better, just wait!

Fall Break

We didn't want to go to St. George or Disney Land this year for Fall Break. We wanted to hang out and bond with nature.
So, let the bonding and being one with nature begin with a hike up the canyon. After inviting ourselves to go on a picnic with the neighbors we hiked around and posed for pictures.

This is our "white trash" picnic basket, also known at our house as luggage. We don't have luggage or suitcases, we have laundry baskets. It's so awesome going into hotels with laundry baskets and coolers full of food.

I think the kids were fishing with a BB-gun. Please don't report us.

The kids being one with nature.
