Swim Meet #1

Halle and Hunter are on the swim team this year. This was the first meet of the season.
Hunter improved on all 3 of her stokes. She cut off 2o seconds on each of her races.

Halle also improved on her times. Her arms were like little motors when she swam the freestyle.

This is Halle's favorite stroke, the breast stroke. She is so cute when she does it.

Hunter is usually smiling when she swims or she is looking around for Lauren, to see where she is.

These 3 girls were cheering each other on. They are good cheerleaders!

These 2 are good goof balls!

Almost done! The meet started at 4:00 and we were finally done at 8:30. Holy cow, I feel like I was running another 1/2 marathon. One swim meet done, three to go.

Utah Valley Half Marathon

This is Jason and I getting ready for the big marathon.
This is Jason still deciding if he should run the race or not. Jason was super busy at work this past Spring and didn't have time to train. He did get a in a 4 mile run and a 8 mile run down Suncrest. He kept going back and forth, "Yeah, I'm doing, No, I'm not doing" AAAHHH!! He decided around 4:00am the day of the race that he was going to do it.

I trained for 3 months adding a mile a week, D&C 38:30 "If ye are prepared ye shall not fear".

I was freaking out. I was super nervous about the port-a-potties. I knew I could finish I was just nervous about other things going wrong. I was even having nightmares.

This is Jodi, me and Tami before the race. We were supposed to be at the Provo Mall at 3:30am to catch the bus, but I hang with rebels and we had someone drop us off at the starting line around 5:45am. My sister ran the race too and she called me at 4:00am up at the starting line wondering where I was. I told her I was on my way. I was on my way back to bed. I was actually in bed eating a banana.

This is us at the starting line, Jodi, Lisa, me, Tami, Kelli, (she had been there for 2 hours), some guy, and Jason.

We finished the race. Yahoo! We had so much fun. Tami kept making us pass the anyone in front of us, "Hey lets pass that guy in the pink TuTu or hey lets pass the lady that is 7 months pregnant, or hey lets pass that guy in the neon yellow shirt". Tammy has been hanging out with Jillian Michaels way to long. Lisa and I had bigger problems, like which port-a-potty had the smallest line. Lisa and I peed in the bushed, we didn't want to mess up our time by waiting in line at the port-a-potties.

Super fun! Jason finished ahead of me, super annoying. He is paying for it now, he can hardly walk.

Awards Assembly/ Last Day of School

Hunter received an award at school "The Great American Challenge". It was a lot of hard work. Here are a few things that she had to memorize and pass off.

1. The 50 states

2. The Star Spangled Banner

3. The Pledge of Allegiance (spelled and punctuated correctly)

4. The Preamble

5. The Gettysburg Address

I am so proud of her. It literally took hours and hours to memorize all of the items.

Check it out! AWESOME!

This is the last day of school. Hunter passed the 5th grade. She had the BEST teacher ever. Really, the best teacher. Hunter learned a lot but also enjoyed every second in Miss. Mitchell's class.

Halle passed 2nd grade this year. She also had an amazing teacher. We were really lucky to have had such great teachers. Halle is the youngest girl in her class. She still did a great job. She even won a few Spelling Bees at the end of the year. (She got that talent from Jason)

Halle is a great student.

Yeah for Summer.

Dance Festival 2011

I recorded Halle's dance for the Dance Festival so I didn't get any action shots. She did a dance to a High School Musical song. She kept saying how it was so easy. She didn't really do the dance because it was so easy. I kept think, how much money are we spending on dance, and finally she has an opportunity to show her skills and she flops around not doing the dance. I wanted to yell, "Do it full out!"

My camcorder ran out of tape so, I did get action shots of Hunter. Now, she did it "full out". She loves stuff like this. I think she volunteered to be in every grades dance. Hunter is the one in the white t-shirt, shorts, and cowgirl boots. The two girls in front of Hunter are wondering why she is so excited.

This is Hunter, Mckynlie and Samantha. They are sweet girls. I am so happy she has good friends. We can't wait for next years dance festival.

Memorial Day

We went to the Orem Cemetery last week for Memorial Day. It was very pretty. My dads grave is up on the hill, we thought that he would like the view. We left him a rock from our camping trip. My mom left the pretty purple bouquet.

We miss Papa Kent!

B-day Party

Hunter has been begging for a Birthday Party for years, and I mean years. Her last party was when she turned 8 years old. Parties stress us out!
This was one of Hunters favorite gift, LEGOS!

Yeah for Legos!

I had to put in her quilt that I made her. Boy am I crafty, or getting old!

We took Hunters friends to a climbing gym. It was super fun.

These are Hunters friends. I am so glad she has great friends to hang out with.

Well mannered pre-teenagers. SCARY!

YEAH, not another B-day Party until she is 21!!

HURRAY HURRAY!
