Newport Beach

We went to California for Fall Break. We spent a few days at Disney Land aka "The Happiest Place on Earth," or I like to call it "The BUSIEST Place on Earth!" Those pictures will come soon.

This is the family at New Port Beach. We went to visit Josh and Laura for the afternoon. They have a cute apartment and even a cuter little girl! Just for your info. if you call and ask Josh for the directions to their apartment ask for Laura. Josh told us to go 15 minutes in the wrong direction. Which isn't that bad if you know Josh. If we would have followed his directions we would have ended up in the ocean. Oh well.

Jason and the girls made sandcastles and they also collected a lot of sea shells.

I was cold so I just got my feet wet. The girls were crazy, they were sitting, laying, and skipping in the water. They must get their crazy side from Jason. We had a lot of fun at the ocean and more fun visiting Josh, Laura and Brynlee. I will post more pictures soon.

I love. . .

I love this outfit Halle put on for dance today. I was wanting her to change but figured I should just let her learn her lesson. The older girls at dance LOVED it. They told her over and over how cute it was. She definitely learned her lesson. Or I guess I learned a Fashion Lesson.

I love this stuff. If I could take a bath in this soup I would. The only problem is that is is expensive (for me). I need to learn to make this from scratch, not warm it up in the microwave. This is really putting a strain on the budget. Costco is making a killing off of my addictions. So if anyone out there knows how to make something close to this heavenly indulgence please call me, email me, or just leave some on the door step and run.

Fall Clean-Up Part 1

BEFORE

This is what our yard looked like Saturday morning before Jason and I went crazy with the clippers. We were going to just do a little trimming and then we just couldn't control ourselves. Grasshoppers and spiders went running for the neighbors (I hope) JK

AFTER

This is what it looked like after. Check out our little stubby tree in front of the window. I couldn't see out of the window before, but I can sure see out now! It feels good to have 1/4 of the yard ready for Fall. I have to use my time wisely, hunting season is here and if I want any help from Jason I have to do as much as possible when he is home. We filled up our trailer full of clippings, so we had to stop. Next time he is in town we will work on the side yard.

Who needs Vern Yip?

If you watch TV like I do, you would know Vern Yip. He is a decorator on HGTV. I don't really love him, but I do like to say his name, "Vern Yip". So anyways, I have my own Vern, her name is Hunter. She wouldn't stop asking me to decorate for Halloween last week so of course I gave in. I just let her do it because I didn't really care.

This is what she came up with. Pretty good. I can hire her out if you need some help decorating your house. Keep it quiet though, I think there are child labor laws. Who knows?

P. S. this is the table I bought with my substituting money. I think the money only paid for one of the orange stars. O well, it was a learning experience.

Who needs Swiss Days?

The girls are always wanting to have a lemonade stand. I really hate lemonade stands. You feel so bad driving by and not buying any but, what do you do. So I told them if they wanted to sale something that people might actual need or want then it would be O.K. So, we made 50 pop bottle necklaces and 15 flower clips. The girls sat outside for about 15 minutes. No one even drove by. I told them it was the economy. They didn't get it, (neither do I).

Next week my neighbor is having a huge garage sale, maybe we will have to go and sale the jewelery there. Since I just retired from school teaching, we need a second income from somewhere. We have bills you know!

I'm retiring!

Some of you might have heard that I was substituting Hunter's class last Friday. Let's just say that I learned A LOT last week. Here are a few things that I learned.

1. Teachers do not get paid enough.
2. Substitute teachers do not get paid enough. I left at 7:30 and returned home at 4:00. I got paid around $40.00. If my calculations are right I just got paid $5.00 an hour. Which isn't even minimum wage. I don't like being gone all day.
3. I don't like working for someone else. I like being in charge.
4. I'm not lazy but, seriously that was stressful.
5. The kids will run you over like a bulldozer if your not prepared and on your game.
6. I was a deer caught in the headlights of 32, 4th graders.
7. I like being able to go to the restroom when I darn well feel like it.
8. I like being able to call someone, anyone, when I darn well feel like it.
9. I have no idea why I graduated in Secondary Education.
10. I leaned that there is no better job than staying home and taking care of my sweet little family.
11. I will never complain about being bored or not talking to any one all day long ever again.
12. I will grind wheat and make homemade bread every week and not complain about it.
13. I am very grateful that Jason works hard and wants me to stay home and go to lunch with my friends.

I may have only gotten paid a few dollars but what I learned was priceless.

First day of school

Hunter fell off her bike the night before school started. It was pretty nasty. She couldn't bend her knee or wear anything that touched it, so she has had to wear shorts every day. It's been so blasted hot that it turned out okay. Halle was very excited to go to school. She has the same teacher Hunter had in 1st grade so she wasn't very nervous.

My little 1st grader is so big now. Yes, I am home alone for 6 hours, and that is why Jason is expecting some great things from me, like dinner, a cold glass of water when he walks in the door, and me wearing an apron. Life isn't getter easier, so don't ask me what I do with all my spare time, I'm a busy housewife trying to keep my family happy.

P.S. I am substituting for Hunter's class next week. I am very excited because in the first 2 days of school I've bought 2 different pieces of furniture. I think I'll be able to pay off the table in the year 2020 with my money from substituting. I had to pay $25.00 to get fingerprinted and then I get paid $43.00 a day before taxes. We are rolling in the money!!! If you need a loan give me a call.
